GC Hauptsmoorwald Bamberg
Description
The Hauptsmoorwald Bamberg Golf Club is nestled in the old pine and deciduous forest of the Hauptsmoorwald on the outskirts of Bamberg and presents itself as a compact yet technically demanding 9-hole course. Originally laid out in the 1960s by US military personnel, the course was officially opened in 1994. Despite its relatively short overall length, it challenges the player with narrow fairways, dense tree cover, and greens well-protected by sand bunkers – a course with character. The location within the forest creates a tranquil atmosphere, even though the proximity to the city is noticeable. The course is suitable for golfers of all skill levels: beginners will find a fair introduction, while ambitious players will enjoy the challenge. Guests are welcome; a reservation and a valid handicap certificate are required.
